Omubaka Ambassador

A native of Kampala, Uganda, artist Rose Kirumira was the first Fulbright Scholar in Residence at De Anza College in 1999. She is a faculty member at Makerere University in sculpture.

“This sculpture is a tribute to my experience as a guest artist at De Anza, how I felt welcomed and apart of this community. It depicts a recognizable African geometric form. I believe each person is an ambassador of a certain culture.”
