What factors influence the hopes and aspirations of Silicon Valley high school students and how do those hopes differ based on class and race? Davidson is the author of The Burdens of Aspiration: Youth, Schooling, and Inequality in Silicon Valley, that explored the world of two Silicon Valley high schools, one very affluent and mostly white and Asian, the other mostly working class and Latino.
