Distance Learning courses offer students an alternative to traditional classroom studies. Courses are available through a variety of media, including online, video streaming and cable TV. Distance Learning courses have the same requirements and quality as regular classes. Students have to go through the same application process as with regular classes, as required by De Anza College.
Some courses require on-campus meetings and some don't. Please check the course information below to see where your classes are hosted and what the requirements are.
New Student Catalyst Session
Students enrolled for the first time in an online class that uses Catalyst, De Anza's e-classroom software, are invited to attend either of two optional, face-to-face welcome sessions the first week of classes. You'll see what a Catalyst class looks like and learn how to get things done. These sessions are not required and do not replace any orientation for your specific class(es). The two sessions are identical, and no reservation is required. Both sessions will be held in MLC 255, on the second floor of the Media and Learning Center (MLC) building.
After the first day of the quarter, an add code from the instructor is required for enrolling into a class. Contact the instructor of the course you want to add, and when you get the add code through email, you can add the course.
