What is Distance Education?
Online Orientation for HIST-D017A-63Z with David Howard-Pitney
Distance learning courses at De Anza College are regular college credit courses which allow students to complete most or all of their course work on their own time, at home or at another convenient location. The courses are academically equivalent to on-campus courses and are taught by De Anza instructors.
Distance learning courses are similar to traditional classroom courses in content, assignments, exams and grading. Courses are not self-paced. Students are expected to meet deadlines stated in the Schedule of Classes and established by instructors.
De Anza distance learning courses use a variety of media such as online resources and video.
Check the course schedule and the Distance Learning web site for additional information.
The syllabus (or Green Sheet) for each class is available from the De Anza Distance Learning web site.
