A Message from your Instructor
Our online class at De Anza uses an e-classroom software called Catalyst. If you've never used Catalyst and would like an in-person introduction, go to one of the distance learning orientation sessions. No RSVP is necessary, but seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis:
The two sessions are identical, and no reservation is required. Both sessions will be held in MLC 255, on the second floor of the new Media and Learning Center (MLC) building.
Wednesday, January 9, 5-6 pm in MLC 255
Friday, January 11, 12:30-1:30 pm in MLC 255
The instructor will not be offering an orientation but is available for in-person office hours as well as available for questions via email or phone.
The quarter system can be extremely fast-paced and requires much dedication and self-discipline. Note that the textbook reading alone consists of approximately 40-50 pages of reading per week. Obtain your textbook ASAP (the best option is by buying it in person through the De Anza bookstore) and begin reading as soon as the quarter begins.
Hours of Study
Be prepared to spend a minimum of 8 hours per week using and studying the course materials.
