Staff GuidelinesThe Custodial Department utilizes the APPA Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities. The expected standards and levels of custodial services provided to the college ca.m.pus can be determined by identifying the following:
The number of square feet assigned to each custodian by standard space will determine the level of service provided to that space. The lower the a.m.ount of cleaning square foot per custodian, the level of the cleaning quality will be higher. For exa.m.ple, a custodian with 420 minutes per shift assigned a space of 16,700 square feet of classroom with hard floor will provide a higher level of service than a custodian assigned 45,600 square feet.
Custodial Department’s Cleaning ScheduleDue to personnel reductions in the Custodial department, the campus is unable to maintain the APPA level three standard with the reduced staffing levels. With the current staff the college can only achieve APPA level five standards. Please note that these services may be reduced further due to fluctuations in daily staffing levels. Evening custodians will no longer rearrange chairs displaced during classroom activities. Please return classrooms to their original configuration at the end of class. Please contribute to keeping the campus as clean as possible.
