Welcome to My Faculty Webpage

Welcome to my faculty webpage!  Please feel free to explore the links provided on the left hand margin designed to help students successfully navigate through the community college system.

I am a full-time, tenured community college counselor in the Counseling Center located in the Student & Community Services (SCS) Building - Second Floor. Counselors provide academic, career, and personal counseling services to assist students in completing their educational goal.

As an instructional faculty member, I teach Human Development, Career Life Planning, and Counseling courses.

I am actively involved on-campus and on district governance committees.  I serve on the Faculty Association (FA) Executive Council, as well as on the Advisory Committee of the Jean Miller Resource Center (for gender and sexuality).  My previous involvement includes the Equity Action Council and the Student Services Planning Budget Team (SSPBT).

I have been with De Anza College since 2006 in various roles including Academic Advisor and Financial Aid Outreach Assistant.  I have been a Student Success & Retention Services (SSRS) and an International Student Programs (ISP) Counselor, as well as have coordinated both the SSRS Peer Advisors and the Foster Youth Summer Bridge program.  I am actively involved with the De Anza Outreach team and our annual student leadership/outreach conferences.

Before coming to De Anza College, I was a Financial Aid Technician for Skyline College (San Bruno, CA) and EOPS Program Services Coordinator for the College of San Mateo (San Mateo, CA).  My previous employment also includes 9 years with the San Diego County Office of Education working as a Friday Night Live Mentoring Program Coordinator in K-12.

“We’ve bought into the idea that education is about training and “success”, defined monetarily, rather than learning to think critically and to challenge. We should not forget that the true purpose of education is to make minds, not careers." -- Chris Hedges
