Human Biology (Bio11)

In this course you'll learn about your body and how it works.  We will  cover a broad range of topics in biology including:
  • Cells and stem cells
  • Cell division and what happens when cell division "goes bad"
  • Anatomy and physiology of different body systems
  • Diseases that develop when the homeostasis of these body systems fails
  • Genetics and genetic diseases
  • Molecular biology, DNA, SNPs, and medical research
  • Human reproduction and overpopulation
  • Global warming

You will be encouraged to work together in lab, form study groups and challenge each other.  I hope you'll gain an appreciation of the remarkable mechanisms of life and discover that biology is both interesting and fun!

Drop-in group tutoring is available this quarter (Sp 2013)

Bio11 tutors will be available in S43, the Science and Math Tutoring Center
