Jeff Schinske Biology

Welcome to Mr. Schinske's Website!

Picture of Jeff SchinskeI feel fortunate to have one of the best jobs in the world: teaching students at De Anza College.  I have taught biology for non-majors and majors, as well as anatomy and physiology at De Anza, and I am currently the lead faculty member for our Human Biology classes (Bio 11).  I also co-direct a National Science Foundation grant titled Community College Biology Faculty Enhancement through Scientific Teaching (CCB FEST), which provides support to current and aspiring community college biology instructors across the region.

My other roles at De Anza include: Member of DARE, which seeks to enhance the success of basic skills students across campus; STEM Staff Development Facilitator for IMPACT AAPI, which aims to close gaps in academic achievement among Asian American and Pacific Islander students; Equal Opportunity (EO) Representative for hiring committees; BHES Division Liaison for Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and assessments.

This website includes information and resources for the courses I teach.  Click on the link for your course on the left of this page to access course-specific documents and resources.  Please also browse the links to the left to learn more about my background and teaching philosophies.  I'm honored to serve you, the students of De Anza, and I greatly enjoy partnering with you in the biology classroom!  Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions about my courses or my work in the field of college biology teaching.
