Biography

Sand DuneBorn in India in a family of Islamic Scholars.

Memorized the entire Holy Qur'an at age 10.

Earned Aalim (Scholar) certificate after completing an eight year course in four years, from Darul UIoom Nadwatul Ulamaa', (the University of Islamic Scholars) in Lucknow, India.

Earned B.A., and M.A., in Islamic Studied from: Al-Azhar University, and a teaching Diploma from: Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.

Earned a Ph.D. from University of London in Qur'anic Studies.

Worked as planner in education, visiting Imam to British Prisons, and Social and Welfare Officer in the Islamic Cultural Center, London, U.K. 

Established first full time Islamic School in London for Islamic Circle Organization of Yusuf Islam.

Moved to America in 1985 on invitation of Muslim Community as Imam and Director of MCA, Santa Clara.

Teaching since 1995 in Chabot college, Hayward, Ohlone College, Fremont, Mission College, Santa Clara, De Anza College, Cupertino, and Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, courses on Islamic Studies and Arabic Language.
