We encourage everyone to be aware of and practice personal habits that will keep you and others in our college community healthy during the flu season.

Stay Informed about Pandemic Flu

This Web site will continue to provide information about health alerts on campus, as well as recommendations for staying healthy. We will also periodically e-mail students, faculty and staff as needed with links to more information.

How to Combat Flu —
Stop the Spread of Germs!

  • Avoid close contact.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Practice other good health habits.

Quick Tip for Stopping Germs

Sneeze/cough into your sleeve or

cover your mouth/nose with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a trash bin. This prevents those around you from getting sick.

News and Updates

If you missed getting either an H1N1 or seasonal flu vaccine through De Anza's Health Services, additional supplies are expected in the near future.

 

Please check back for dates when the vaccines will be offered.

 

Note: Health Services expects to receive only the nasal H1N1 vaccine. Persons with asthma should check with the Santa Clara County for injectable H1N1 vaccine locations.

If you have a fever with a  cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, stay home and call your primary care physician or go to Santa Clara Valley Medical Express Clinic for evaluation.
