EWRT 200: Fundamentals of Writing

  1. Recognize and generate effective writing at the sentence level.
  2. Follow a writing process in order to convey focused, developed ideas in paragraph form.
  3. Approach and interact confidently with a variety of texts.

 

EWRT 211: Preparatory Reading and Writing Skills

  1. Clear ability to respond critically to one’s own and others’ experiences and ideas.
  2. Clear sequential relationship between supporting ideas and central argument/controlling idea.
  3. Evidence of strong synthesis, argumentation, analysis, and/or problem-solving skills.

 

EWRT 1A: Composition and Reading

  1. Practice writing as a multi-step process including planning and revising with attention to varying purposes, audiences, and rhetorical strategies.
  2. Read and analyze rhetorically and culturally diverse narrative and expository texts from a variety of perspectives.

 

EWRT 1B: Reading, Writing, and Research
