Counseling for Basic Skills Students

We offer a comprehensive array of counseling services to support basic skills students with their educational, career and personal development.

Our counselor can assist basic skills students in planning to earn career certificates, associate degrees and/or transfer to a four-year university.

This service is for students enrolled in basic skills courses READ 200 or 211, EWRT 200 or 211 or ESL 200, 234 or 244 - provided they are not in another program or learning community.

Please Note:

  • Students who are not in basic skills courses go to general counseling.
  • Students in programs or learning communities such as Puente, Umoja, FYE, IMPACT AAPI, VIDA, LinC, MPS, Men of Color, DSPS, REACH, EOPS or Veterans please see your program counselor.
  • International students go to the International Students Program at the Registration & Student Services Building, Second Floor.
