Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund offers 50 scholarships to De Anza students

The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF), the nation's largest non-profit organization devoted to providing college scholarships for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students, is now accepting applications for the APIASF Community College Scholarship Program, which includes scholarship awards of $2,250 each for 50 De Anza students who qualify.

The deadline to apply is October, 12, 2012.

This 2012-13 academic school year scholarship is available to 50 eligible full-time, degree-seeking AAPI students who are enrolled at De Anza College. Only three other colleges are included in this program, including City College of San Francisco, Coastline Community College, and South Seattle Community College. At total of 115 scholarships are being made available through the APIASF program.

Eligibility requirements:

  • APIASF FlyerBe of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census
  • Be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of the Freely Associated States.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at De Anza College in the 2012-2013 academic year (if you are enrolled in six credits or less of online courses, you are also eligible for this scholarship). *Please note that a degree-seeking program means that you intend to receive an Associate and/or a Bachelor's degree.
  • You must have applied for the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov for more information.
