This timely warning notification was sent to faculty, staff and students on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

A female student has reported to police that, earlier this evening, she was accosted by a male while walking on the south side of the De Anza campus, near the Planetarium. The student reported that he grabbed her by the arm and pushed her against a wall, attempting to kiss her and touching her inappropriately. She punched the assailant and ran away. The suspect was last seen heading north toward the area of the Campus Center. The victim was uninjured.

The assailant is described as possibly Latino or Middle Eastern, 5'5" to 5'6" inches tall, with short brown hair, bushy eyebrows and unshaven, with a cut above his lip and strong body odor. He was last seen wearing a black fleece zip-up hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He told the victim his name is Alexander.

All available police officers are on campus this evening. Tonight or any weeknight, call 650.949.7313 to request a safety escort. Dial 911 in an emergency.
