Scott Myers-Lipton, San José State University instructor and minimum wage campaign co-founder
More than one in ten Bay Area residents live in poverty, while many others struggle to make ends meet. Although poverty rates in the Bay Area are below those of the rest of the nation, the gap between the "haves" and "have-nots" continues to grow.
