The Future of Green Jobs for Minority StudentsThe future of green jobs provides opportunity for all students. Come to a green jobs information fair on the De Anza campus to learn how you can be a part of the socially-conscious green revolution. Wednesday, March 18
The event will feature speakers throughout the day, and information tables will be hosted by green job representatives. Feel free to come and go as needed, but do stop by and check it out! For more information about the event, contact Marc Coronado at 408.864.8409 or coronadomarc@deanza.edu. “Have you heard the latest news about the final economic recovery bill? What does this mean to the Environment? What does this mean to you? The Green Jobs Act was signed into law in December 2007. Since then, many environmental organizations have fought time and again to secure federal funding for green jobs training. In September, tens of thousands rallied across the country for Green Jobs Now. And in the past few months, they made more than 300 phone calls and sent more than 30,000 emails to Congress. Thanks to these collective efforts, this recovery package will make a significant investment in people and the planet. Information provided by Environment California Legislative Director, Dan Jacobson, and Green For All, a national organization dedicated to building an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. The Future of Green Jobs event is sponsored by LEAD! Latina/o Empowerment at De Anza, Wise 37 and Latina/o Heritage Events. Funding for the event is provided by DASB.
