Handicapped and Disability Parking Permits

Handicapped Parking

Designated handicapped parking spaces are located in every parking lot a De Anza for blue (long term) or red (temporary) "handicapped" DMV placards or license plates issued by the California State Department of Motor Vehicle.

Persons driving such vehicles

• are exempt from purchasing an FHDA parking permit;
• and may park in any designated blue "handicapped" parking space, or any student of staff space.

Extra-wide 'handicapped' parking spaces should be reserved for use by students in wheelchairs.

Temporary Disability Parking

Students who are temporarily disabled may apply for a college issued Temporary Disability Parking Permit — available in the Disability Support Services Office at De Anza or at the Disability Resources Center located in Building 5800 at Foothill College.

Either office my require a letter of verification from a licensed physician prior to issuing the permit.

• Temporary Disability Permits are issued for no longer than one quarter.
• They are valid in any staff or student lot, but NOT in parking stalls denoted by the international handicap symbol.
