ESL 251/253 Support Workshop Sign-Up

  • To sign up for a support workshop, please check the schedule below and click on the "Sign up!" link next to the workshop you'd like to join. 
  • Each support workshop has four or three sequenced sessions. When you sign up for a workshop, make sure that you can attend all the sessions.
  • Priority is given to ESL 251 and 253 students who have the instructor's recommendation.

Workshop Content

Pronunciation Practice Part I: Stressed/unstressed syllables, reduced vowels, and
sentence stress
Pronunciation Practice Part II:     Troublesome consonants (R and TH), final sounds, and linking
Presentation Skills: Structure, preparation, overcoming fear, and delivery techniques
   
Perfect Tenses: Simple past, present perfect, and present perfect progressive
Adjective Clause: Form, position, relative pronouns, and restrictive vs.
non-restrictive
Sentence Variety: Conjunctions, run-ons, and fragments
