Tutor Training & MeetingsNew Tutor OrientationsAll new tutors must attend an orientation before they begin tutoring. Orientations cover SSC mission and outcomes, tutor ethics, tutoring policies and procedures, hiring and payroll, and how to conduct the first session. All Tutor, Supplemental Training, and other meetings (required for both new and returning tutors.) Two hours of additional training sessions are required each quarter for returning tutors, and are a prerequisite for pay raises. Click here for the current meeting schedule. Tutor Training Courses All new tutors, unless exempt, enroll in and attend a tutor training class during the first quarter of tutoring. Topic-Specific Sessions: New math/science tutors are required to complete four 90-minute topic-specific sessions, or approved alternative training activity.
