Transfer Day provides prospective transfer students the opportunity to meet and visit with admissions and outreach representatives from four-year colleges and universities. Participants at this annual event include select campuses from California State University (CSU), University of California (UC), California independent/private and several out-of-state colleges and universities.
For many of the participating institutions, Transfer Day represents the only time during the academic year that they will be available on the De Anza campus to provide information about their transfer programs. Keep in mind that there may be a waiting line at some tables to speak with the representative. So come early and prepared with your questions!
Suggestions: How to make the most of Transfer Day
- Find out who will be participating at Transfer Day.
View a preliminary list of participating four-year colleges and universities which should be posted on this web site (early October).
- Research prospective colleges and universities prior to Transfer Day.
Do your transfer homework early. After learning which colleges and universities will be participating, take time to research a prospective school's majors/programs of study, housing options, financial aid, scholarships, student life, student support services/programs and other areas of interest which are available on the Web.
- Come prepared with a list of questions.
Be sure to write down any questions you may have while doing your research, especially if you are unable to find the answers on the Web. One of the benefits of Transfer Day is that university representatives are available in person to answer your questions and to provide insight and materials to help you determine if the university meets your needs and interests.
- Remember to bring the basics.
Although many participating colleges/universities have provided complimentary supplies to students in the past, we recommend that you bring a pen/pencil and a notepad or a tablet device, and a bag to collect college brochures and materials.
