CSB 101: Cyber Security in Your Everyday Life
This introductory-level session will explore how to approach your everyday life from a secure perspective. This material is geared toward the campus employee, but much of the information will also be applicable to the user at home as well.  Topics include:

  • Passwords: Good, Bad, Ugly, and Recovery Vulnerabilities
  • Shredders, headsets, WiFi and more
  • Microsoft/Apple/Linux security updates
  • Social Media: Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare etc

CSB 102: Online Cyber Security: How You Can Protect Your Students and Yourself Online!

This introductory-level session will explore how to approach your use of online tools with an emphasis on security.  Topics include:

  • Identity theft, credit reports, and how to protect yourself
  • Online and portable banking
  • Viruses/malware/spyware/etc
  • Javascript, Flash, Java, and PDF security
  • Email, Web Browsers, and Plug-ins
  • Online tracking and how it can impact you

Smart Phone/Tablet Security 101

So you have an iPhone or a Droid...  That's great, but have you secured it yet?  From App Stores to passwords and portable banking, this introductory-level session will explore how to use your portable devices securely, with an emphasis on their use in the work place.

  • App Stores
  • In-app purchases
  • Intro to "the ecosystem" and how these devices work
  • Jail-breaking and its security implications
  • News reports on Smart Phone / Tablet security stuff

This informal session will showcase issues in the news and noteworthy security failures - to explore what we can learn from these mistakes. This material is geared toward the campus employee, but much of the information will also be applicable to the user at home as well.

  • Stuxnet

  • Cyber warfare and Cyber bullying
  • News items and how they affect you
  • Preventing exfiltration at your own workspace
