Paralegal Studies

Paralegal Studies Department

Welcome

Paralegal teamParalegals, under the supervision of attorneys, perform legal and factual research, draft legal documents, interview clients and witnesses, help prepare for trial, maintain and organize files, and coordinate the use of technology in law practices.

Since its inception over 20 years ago, the De Anza Paralegal Program has graduated hundreds of paralegals who work in government agencies, corporate legal departments and private law firms.

The Program was the first paralegal program in the South Bay to be approved by the American Bar Association. Read student testimonials about our program.

Paralegal graduates cannot give legal advice, appear in court, or otherwise engage in the unauthorized practice of law. The practice of law by non-attorneys is strictly prohibited by law.
